WINDOWS 95/NT - CHKVERS LOCAL DOES NOT DELETE TEMP DIRECTORY

** Last updated 2/24/97 **

A new Check Version parameter was added in Service Pack
PTF SF38346 for V3R1M0 and Service Pack PTF SF38281 for V3R1M1
and in V3R1M2.

This parameter is called LOCAL and is documented in APAR
SA56254. It's purpose to copy the install image from the
managing system to a temporary directory and then start the
install from the PC instead of the managing system. If
your temporary directory is set to C: Windows Temp then the
files are copied to a new directory under this directory
called C: Windows Temp CA400.

When the install completes, the CA400 Temporary directory is no
longer needed. If you select to reboot the system after the
install, the directory does not automatically get deleted. If
you select to not reboot the system after the install the
directory does automatically get deleted.

This will be fixed in the future Service Packs for V3R1M0,
V3R1M1, and V3R1M2.
